The team behind Assembly House Studios and Project Space in Armley have launched their latest venture, Lady Beck. Based in the heart of Mabgate and named after the stream that runs through the area, Lady Beck is housed in the former ‘Enjoy’ project space, a cornerstone of the arts community in Leeds. Assembly House were approached by those formerly running the space in order to secure its continued legacy. Speaking on the project, Assembly House explain that they “are honoured and excited to be involved with the future of this artspace and are committed to ensuring that the needs of artists remain the sole focus of the venue.”

The acquisition of a second space marks a major milestone for Assembly House, who are well known amongst the Leeds grassroots art community for providing affordable studios, workspaces and exhibiting opportunities for young creatives. Both Assembly House and Lady Beck’s project spaces will now be available for external hire, providing students and emerging artists with opportunities to organise their own exhibitions and events. Lady Beck also has an additional floor, that will be developed into affordable studios focussing on emerging groups and collectives.
