This year, the organisers at the Manchester Literature Festival are showcasing not only work from well-known talent, but also from international writers and exciting new emerging writers and artists. Every year the festival commissions a number of writers to produce new writing specific to the event responding to current politics, exhibitions in the city, and even Manchester’s grant Midland Hotel.

This is a note from the people behind the festival: ‘Now in its 13th year, the Manchester Literature Festival has been building on its previous success expanding audiences and creating new partnerships across the national and international literary world’.

Events include new writing from Sarah Perry on her latest haunting, Gothic tale; northern female icon Pat Barker; as well as TV personality names such the nation’s beloved Graham Norton, and writer and comedian Jo Brand on her new book: Born Lippy: How to do Female.

With a range of ticket prices, times, and venues all over the city of Manchester, MLF is a heart-warming event which is accessible to everyone: whether you’re a teacher, a student studying literature or have an interest in literature, or simply just have a love for creativity, writing, and art.
